Truly lovely!
First and foremost everything about El Viento is superbly perfect. The windmill: the view is incredible, and in our opinion the best Santorini has to offer. The caldera looks splendid and you can see Fira and Oía. I could stay there all day just looking out. The pictures truly don’t do it justice, it is even more beautiful in person. It is very clean and tidy inside, and just so cute and charming! Breakfast: it is so good that it deserves its very own category and few sentences! Petros is a pastry chef and owns the Family bakery just some meters away from El Viento. He brought us breakfast every morning and it was delicious and varied every day. It seriously was an outstanding breakfast selection and so decadent each day. Juice and coffee also great! Petros and Georgia: they are incredible, kind, and giving hosts! They truly treated us as if we were old friends visiting. Not to mention that they were both extremely responsive and helpful with everything from a car rental (which was brought to us) to recommendations and even helping us hire a photographer. They are such a delight! Megalochori: definitely, and I mean definitely, carve out at least six hours to explore. It is such a charming village. We were so elated walking around looking at the bells and the traditional architecture. Truly lovely! You won’t regret staying here, go ahead and add an extra day now we wish we had! 🙂
